About
Are you an independent filmmaker seeking funding to start or finish your film?
From the Heart Productions, a 501(c)3 non-profit, can help. Our mission is to a educate and assist independent filmmakers on raising the money they need for their documentaries, short, feature films and webseries. Carole Dean founded From the Heart Productions in 1993. Before that, she fostered the 70’s explosion in indie films by buying leftover film stock from studios then reselling it at a discount to filmmakers. She saw how difficult it was for artists to raise money for their films. She created the Roy W. Dean Grant, pioneered fiscal sponsorship for filmmakers, and established the Intentional Filmmaking Class. The Roy W. Dean Grant is awarded 3 times a year to a documentary, short film, feature, or web series that is unique and makes a contribution to society. The grant has made possible many award winning films and kept important projects alive.
