Here is how ProductionHelp works, what it costs and what it doesn’t do. The answers below match our Terms of Use and the pages linked in each answer. If something is unclear or out of date, email info@productionhelp.io.
What is ProductionHelp?
ProductionHelp is a free online directory and job board for film, video and photo production. Producers, agencies and marketing teams use it to find local crew and production vendors, like camera operators, gaffers, sound mixers, drone operators and full-service production companies, and then contact them directly. It is not an agency. We don’t send crew to your shoot, and we aren’t part of the booking or the payment.
Has anyone actually used ProductionHelp to find a film crew?
We don’t post customer reviews or testimonials on this site, so you won’t find a page of quotes here. What you can check for yourself: the job board is public, so you can see the jobs people have posted, and every profile in the directory shows the crew’s own work samples and contact details. The quickest test is to post a job for free for your next shoot and see who gets in touch.
Is ProductionHelp legit?
It’s a working directory and job board, and our Terms of Use spell out exactly what we do and don’t do. We approve listings and job posts to keep out spam. We don’t check identity, licenses, insurance or the quality of anyone’s work. So use it the way you’d use any directory: find people here, then do your own checks. Ask for a reel that looks like your kind of shoot, references and a certificate of insurance before you book. For drone work, ask for the operator’s FAA Part 107 certificate.
How do I find and contact crew?
Search by category and location from the home page, or browse every category in the directory, such as Camera Operators / Videographers, Gaffers or Production Sound Mixers. You can also start from one of our city guides, like hiring a camera crew in Atlanta. Open a few profiles, look at the work samples and reach out using the contact details or website on the profile. Nobody sits in the middle. You talk to the crew directly.

How does posting a job work?
The job form asks what you need, the city, the date and an optional budget, plus your name and an email or phone number. It takes about a minute and it’s free. Once it passes our spam check, the job shows on the job board. Only signed-in members can see your contact details, and crew who are interested contact you.
Is ProductionHelp free for producers?
Yes. Searching the directory, contacting crew and posting a job are free, and there’s no booking fee. You pay the crew or company you hire directly, on terms you agree with them.
Does it cost anything to get listed as crew or a vendor?
No. A listing is free. Vendors who want more visibility can ask about optional featured placement. The site doesn’t publish a price for it, so email info@productionhelp.io if you want details.
How do crew and vendors join, and how does approval work?
Create a free account on the sign-up page as Crew / Vendor, then submit your listing with your categories, city and work samples. Every new listing goes into review first. We check it for spam, and once it’s approved your profile goes live in the directory. Approval is a spam check only. It isn’t an endorsement of your work, so your reel and samples still have to do that job.

What does the ProductionHelp Approved Vendor badge mean?
It means the vendor has an approved ProductionHelp listing, so the listing passed our basic spam check. The badge says Verified, and here that means verified with ProductionHelp: the listing was approved. It is not a background, license, insurance or skill check, and it isn’t a guarantee of the work. Approved vendors can add the free badge to their own website, and it links back to their ProductionHelp profile so clients can see their work. Details are on the badge page.
Does ProductionHelp handle contracts, insurance or payment?
No. You agree scope, contracts, insurance and payment directly with the crew or company you hire. ProductionHelp isn’t an employer, agency or broker. That also means we can’t step in on a no-show or an unpaid invoice, so get the important details in writing before the shoot.

How do I report a problem with a listing or a job post?
Email info@productionhelp.io or use the contact form. Send the link to the listing or job and a short note on what’s wrong, for example spam, a fake job, someone using your photos or wrong details. Job posts have to be real jobs, with no fees charged to applicants, and we can edit or remove any listing, photo, job or account that breaks the Terms of Use.
How do I update or remove my own listing or content?
Log in and open your listing to make changes. If you want specific photos or work samples taken down, or you don’t want to be featured anymore, email info@productionhelp.io and tell us what to remove.
