We only print a price when a vendor publishes one, and no Las Vegas listing here does yet. Permit costs are separate and small: the City of Las Vegas charges no film permit fee, and Clark County’s permit is free with a $45 processing fee. Police, traffic control and casino location fees are billed by those parties. For how crew quotes are usually built, read what a camera operator actually costs and day rate versus project rate.
How to hire a cameraman, camera crew or film crew in Las Vegas

Pin down the jurisdiction first. The area people call Las Vegas is six jurisdictions. The Strip south of Sahara Avenue, including the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, is Clark County; downtown and Fremont Street are the City of Las Vegas; Henderson and North Las Vegas run their own permits. Put the exact address in your brief, along with dates, camera count, sound, lighting and editing needs. Our video production brief template helps.

Book around the convention calendar. Crews here fill up during big shows. Send the same brief to two or three crews from the lists above and ask about load-in times, union or venue rules at the convention center or resort, overtime and who keeps the raw footage.

Clear the casino and the paperwork. Many Strip sidewalks are private casino property, so the resort must approve filming there in addition to any permit. Register the production with the Nevada Film Office, which state law requires and costs nothing, and get the insurance certificate ready. Our guide to video production insurance covers what crews are usually asked for.

Filming permits and locations in Las Vegas
Which office you call depends on where the camera sits. The main ones for a shoot in the valley:
- City of Las Vegas: a film permit is needed for commercial filming on city streets, sidewalks and facilities, and on private property in residential areas or when scenes involve weapons, chases, police uniforms or special effects. There is no fee. Email the application five working days ahead, or 14 working days when filming affects traffic or uses effects. Insurance is always required: $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate general liability, Nevada workers’ compensation and $1 million employer’s liability, naming the city and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police as additional insureds. The city says paid influencer and social media shoots need a permit too.
- Fremont Street Experience: needs the city permit plus a separate location agreement from Fremont Street Experience, with its application in 10 business days ahead and $1 million liability coverage naming it as additional insured.
- Clark County and the Strip: unincorporated Clark County, which covers the Strip south of Sahara Avenue, requires a film permit for commercial photo and video. The permit is free with a $45 processing fee, and the online application is due at least 10 calendar days before the first shoot day.
- Police support: road closures, traffic control, stunts, pyrotechnics and drone requests need Las Vegas Metropolitan Police staffing, and the department asks for 14 calendar days notice.

Las Vegas camera crew and film crew FAQs
How much does it cost to hire a camera crew in Las Vegas?
None of the Las Vegas listings on this page publish a day rate, so pricing comes from a quote. Send two or three crews the same brief with dates, venue, camera count, sound, lighting, live streaming and editing needs, then compare what each quote includes. Our guide to what a camera operator costs explains how crew quotes are usually built.
Do I need a permit to film on the Las Vegas Strip?
Usually, yes. The Strip south of Sahara Avenue, including the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, is unincorporated Clark County, which requires a film permit for commercial photo and video. The permit is free with a $45 processing fee and must be applied for at least 10 calendar days ahead. North of Sahara Avenue the City of Las Vegas issues permits. Many Strip sidewalks belong to the casinos, so you also need the resort’s permission.
How far ahead do I apply for a City of Las Vegas film permit?
Five working days for a standard shoot and 14 working days if filming will disrupt roads or traffic or use special effects. The city charges no permit fee but always requires insurance naming the city and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police as additional insureds.

Cerious Productions lists trade shows, corporate events and brand activations, Hamilton International Productions lists conference and convention video, A1T Productions lists conventions, and Corporate Photographers was set up specifically to cover conventions with photo and video teams.
